Ski Hire and Snowboard Hire

Rent skis and snowboards including twin tips, Burton Learn to Ride snowboards, Performance skis and beginner type skis at Cardrona. Hire up the mountain and drop off in Wanaka or Queenstown.

CLOTHING is available as both a one piece OR jacket + pants. The clothing is all insulated for warmth and comfort and the sizes range from Junior XS-L (approx 3 yrs upwards) to Adult XS-XXXXL.

Skis

• Shaped skis range in sizes from 70 – 200cm
• Ski boot sizes range from Jnr 7 (approx 3yrs) to Adult 13
• Top performance skis are available for a $10 cash upgrade on the day.
• Twin tips are available.

Snowboards

• Snowboards range from 88-162cm
• Snowboard boot sizes range from Jnr 12 (approx 8yrs) to Adult 13
• Snowboards are almost all hi-back bindings to improve performance, safety and fit for all levels of riding.
• Burton Learn-to-ride and other soft Easi-slide boards are available for First-timers
• Wristguards are available free of charge (deposit required)

Other

Dressing rooms are located in the Rental department allowing you to change and leave your belongings in a locker.  These are also located in Rental and cost $4 per day for unlimited access

Overnight storage is available for consecutive day hire

Goggles ($15) and Helmets ($13) are also available for hire.  A $40 refundable bond is required.  Gloves & Hats are not available for rental for hygiene reasons.  Instead we have a range of practical gloves and hats that you can buy at less than the cost of rental for a two-day trip.  Great value ($20) and you get to keep and use them for your entire holiday!

Also available from rental are Adaptive Outriggers and Mono skis.

Note

Identification is required for all rental. You will need to provide a credit card (preferable), passport or drivers licence. Failing this a fully refundable cash bond will be held until equipment is returned.  Insurance can be purchased for $3 per person per day to cover you against damage.

Why rent on the mountain??

Flexibility is the main reason. You don’t have to travel with cumbersome equipment.  You can change boots & skis anytime through the day. If you break something, it is easily replaced.

The latest automated tuner is another because well maintained equipment is definitely best!

Rental is available in great value packages, resulting in greater savings.

Also, you can take the equipment to surrounding mountains in the Southern Lakes and return it to our offices in either Wanaka or Queenstown when you are finished.

Hints and Tips

1. Single layer sporting socks which reach up your lower calf work well in boots. 

2. Avoid socks with high cotton content and ribbing or seams as these create pressure points.

3. Keep all extra clothing (pants leg) OUT of the top of the boot to avoid chafing.

4. Dress in layers so you can more easily adjust to temperature changes
